Wish I could post it but it's .pdf

It was stated that I have 1.8% gas? So, this is the % of oil that has gas in it?

So, how bad is that, and what could be causing it?

also, the flashpoint was 340, says it should be greater than 375?

thanks,

Doug

other than that, it said all the wear was normal...

That's pretty high..but not critical. It just could be that you were not thoroughly warmed up when you took the sample.

In this case the flash point is most likely directly proportional to the amt of fuel in the oil. Do you let the car idle a lot? Does it see a lot of short trips? Year make and model would help narrow it down a bit possibly.

Doug,

I think your driving style, possibly combined with mechanical challenges, is causing a high rate of fuel contamination in your oil.
If you haven't already changed out your oil, do so.
At your next change, sample the oil again and have it re-tested.
If your fuel % stays at 1.8, I'd say the oil change interval you're running is about as long as you should run. If it goes higher, you may want to drop your oil change interval such that you make sure the % fuel stays under 2.0.
If your results stay the same, and you were conservative about this vehicle, I might be inclined to reccomend decreasing your oil change interval by 500 miles.
Also, about the issue of not being able to post it because it's a PDF, feel free to simply use the simple text form I use when I post, as follows:
