Unorthodox oil choices

I'm just wondering how many of you choose an unorthodox motor oil for your car. By that, I mean you choose something outside the realm of what is specified or recommended. I know many opt for euro synthetics or hdeo, so that's to be included, but I'm also looking for those choices of boutique oils, racing oils, etc.

Personally I have a case of Driven gp-1 10W-30 waiting for the next couple of oil changes on my 05 impala.

I've been using Schaeffer oil now for about 3 or 4 years now. Easy to find, just goto my local Napa. ...

I've used Renewable Lubricants oils several times, no issues.

Schaeffer's 7000 was another one I pondered for some time, but never followed through on.

I'm way out of recommendation - 15W-60 in my car, and it's been in there for 2.5 years.

Mobil 1 0W-40 in my Ford that specs 5-20. The motor loves it.

I have been running 5w-30 (M1 or PP) in a 2011 Tundra that calls for 5w-20/0w-20. My next change in September I plan to try 5w-30 Amsoil SS. Probably a waste of some money but if I run it a year it should even out pretty close...I think!

I have run Cam2 in my car which is not one of the typical oils run on here.

I suppose you're going to have to elaborate a bit...is that a test sample of crude oil?

I used castrol 0w40 in my 5.4 3valve Ford that spec was 5w20. Ran like a top... use it in my eco boost now that specs 5w30...and runs like a top.

In the North Carolina heat of the summer I'm really tempted to homebrew a mix of SAE30 and 5w-20

I ran a euro 5w40 in my 88 ford f150 302 once. It's now using 15w40 diesel oil.

Why not just use a good synthetic 10W30?

Got a bunch of Delvac Super 1300 15w-40 for $3 per gallon. Put it in my Saturn 1.9 DOHC along with LiquiMoly Mos2 and Rislone Engine Treatment. Smooth running and usage is lower. MPG does not appear to have taken a hit.

Will switch to Mobil 1 5w-30 in colder weather

Blue Blood Cam2 did just fine on a 10k OCi in my Z4.
