I have been using Rotella 5w-40 Or Mobil1 5w-40 but these are just no available here on Cape Cod right now ( Walmart, NAPA or on line etc). The owners manual calls for SH/CD/CF or SJ/CD/CF or ACEA A3/B3. I have an OCI of 3500 miles.Do they call for an ACEA A3/B4 lube by chance?
So in other words, you have nothing insightful to say.If it says meets or exceeds it is NOT approved. You came to wrong crowd to ask whether they have any experience as no one here would buy an oil like that!
There are many choices of ACEA A3/B4 lubricants at Walmart, either on the shelf or from Walmart.com with free shipping. Grade is irrelevant here as is the winter rating, as long as you're warmer than a climate which would require a 0W rating. You also don't need for it to be ACEA A3/B3 since the HT/HS requirement is the same.I have been using Rotella 5w-40 Or Mobil1 5w-40 but these are just no available here on Cape Cod right now ( Walmart, NAPA or on line etc). OK, then You are basically looking for an A3/B4 lube, of which there are many, in many different grades, because it mandates a minimum HTHS of 3.5cP, not a specific grade. So, a Euro A3/B4 0w-30, 5w-30, 0w-40, 5w-40 would be fine. This would include Castrol Edge 0w-30/0w-40/5w-40 and Mobil 1 FS 0w-40 or 5w-40.I have been using Rotella 5w-40 Or Mobil1 5w-40 but these are just no available here on Cape Cod right now ( Walmart, NAPA or on line etc). These are all Full-SAPS lubes with higher levels of AW additives than you are going to find in an SP-style lubricant, which has phosphorous capped at 800ppm. They've also passed some extremely rigorous OEM testing to carry the approvals they do, which are typically A40, 229.5, 502 00/505 00...etc
You are quite welcome.Thank you.
