I need to restock my hoard of oil filters and I found these two on Amazon I haven't seen before and wanted to know what you guys think of these. The Philtop brand I've never heard of and didn't find much when I tried googling it, and I know continental makes tires and other OEM parts but I've never used an oil filter by them before.

1:
PHILTOP Oil Filter, Engine Oil Filter Replacement for PH6607 Altima Rogue Sentra Civic CX-5 Frontier Impreza Protege Escort Fortwo, EOF001 Spin-On Car Oil Filter Purify Engine Oil Reduce Wear https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08MQ222MQ/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_114Z86RDYEJP8XG8C62R

2:
Continental 280366 Original Equipment Quality Engine Oil Filter https://www.amazon.com/dp/B095FWP36G/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_glt_fabc_KFM7FDKBPJXE8CZJDW6K

The PHILTOP is clearly coming from China. The Continental would be a rebadged product from FRAM, Champ, MH...etc but also indicates COO as China.

I'd personally avoid both of them.

I wasn't planning on buying either I just was curious if anyone here knew anything about those two brands.

I'm tempted to at least buy one of the Philtops and cut it open to see what's inside it.

Sure, if you are buying just to C&P, go ahead.

If the filter fails and your engine blows good luck getting payment from China. For $5 go to your auto parts store and buy their jobber model...or walmart.

CRP has started importing stuff under the Continental brand name. CRP is a Pentosin importer too. Continental oil and brake fluid are Pentosin. Decent stuff, though CRP used to import cheap stuff too.

I think I mentioned this in a previous post, but I would be wary of buying filters through Amazon. There are a lot of counterfeit products that flow through Amazon, since they barely do any type of scrutinizing of the products sold on their site...we've found some really scary-quality filters that were Fleetguard knock-offs being sold on Amazon from a "Cummins Filtration" account that was not us...we don't even sell products through Amazon. Ye be warned!
