Not buying VW fluid at $15 or $20 a quart. Not using any multi-make fluid either. It calls for a Type IV fluid like Toyota uses for under $5 a quart. Is the WS fluid the newer and improved synthetic replacement for Type IV? Any reason I shouldn't use it for a few bucks more?

You can use the WS in your Jetta with no problems. You can even use an aftermarket LV ATF like Maxlife or Castrol Full Synthetic because Aisin/Toyota transmissions usually aren't picky
