And even more simple is the Voith/ZF bus shifters. It’s just a basic row of buttons with RND321 or DNR321 with those.If it's pushbutton at least make it intuitive.

I'd imagine that the majority of automatics today are shift-by-wire so automakers definitely have more latitude with design (push button vs dial vs lever). I'm indifferent since I no longer have the opportunity to manually shift.I am seeing the dial control more and more on new car reviews replacing the traditional lever. What are your thoughts on this? I am sure the manual shifters are gritting their teeth.

Yeah, having to push down on the R is a little weird but it also makes you consciously aware that you're putting it into R instead of another push gear. I've come to not mind it after time.If it's pushbutton at least make it intuitive.
