I prefer the old school shift lever.

I am seeing the dial control more and more on new car reviews replacing the traditional lever. What are your thoughts on this? I am sure the manual shifters are gritting their teeth.

Nope, not for me. Console shift only if I can help it, I hate column shift with a passion! Rotary knobs or push buttons are just asinine!
