This is my SIL's Nissan 4X4 TC unit that had the original factory fill fluid in it for 109,282 miles. First and only analysis so far. I thought this might be of interest.

Al - 175
Ca - 67
Cr - 12
Fe - 124
Pb - 1
Mg - 2
Mo - 2
P - 326
K - 2
Si - 199
Na - 15
Sn - 46
Zn - 81
Oxi - 294
Viscosity at 100 C - 7.2 cSt
Tbn - 1.0
Yep! The fluid was shot!
Replaced it with new fluid and we're glad we did!
We are going to sample in 10k and see if wear metals go down. Suspect Si is leached from silicon (gasket/case) sealants since lip seals appear to be ok; no weaping or dripping from seals. I had to use torque wrench to remove drain and fill plugs.
Differentials were in the same situation, original fluids, but didn't take samples.
This unit was purchased used at approx. 64,000 miles.
