I’ve never actually been to the show, but I was at a golf tournament round where I saw some cars being loaded up. It was really weird, where they finished a third and final round of the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am in August after weather suspended play months earlier.

"1979 Ford Ghia Probe 1 Concept Car valued at approximately $1,000,000.00"...... By who? Unless someone was ready and willing to pay that amount, that number could be wishful thinking, and nothing more. There are A LOT of rare, beautiful cars out there for a lot less than that ridiculous looking thing.

And even if they found someone to pay that, it doesn't mean it's worth it. It's why Barrett Jackson has a rule that you cannot resell a car you buy from them for at least 3 years at another Barrett Jackson auction.

That's because a lot of people were trying to turn over their cars they purchased at B.J., only to find they couldn't get anywhere near what they paid.

These auctions often attract a lot of egotistical millionaires, that literally have money to burn, and who like to show off how wealthy they are.

That was my first thought too. Actually, my first thought was "that must've been a REALLY expensive trailer!"

Not sure what this thing would have brought at auction, and it isn't all that pretty.
Still, it was a fully functional one-off show car with a nicely done interior, and as a one-off it would have had some significant value.
I do wonder why it caught fire.
