So enough folks must have complained about the sketchy short block replacements, and likely the following failures of them soon after? :ROFLMAO:

Any bets how long these new engines will last?

I generally have a good opinion of Toyota. I used to get paid to work on them, and saw how they were built. I'm not pleased with the issues with the TTV6, or the Tacoma 4wd front drive assembly.

BUT, at least they are actually doing something to remedy the situation.

I recall numerous people being stuck for 10k+ repairs on Ford Super Duties W/Bosch CP4.2 HPFP's... At one time I made a good living rebuilding Ford transmissions.

I would get it repaired and sell it or trade it in on something new. There are probably problems that arise after the replacement engines are installed. Things can happen with any company and it's not just Toyota.

Toyota deals with problems no matter how ugly. Other makers drag their feet as they view cost over reputation for quality tarnished because they have no reputation for it….

My parents had two major Toyota fails that were perfect after free repairs. A 90 4tunner V6 blew head gasket over 100k Toyota fixed it. Their 2001 Tundra kept till 2023 required a new frame. Not a squeak or rattle or real problems with vehicle over 23 years besides a frame. I guess a starter failed and mechanic complained challenging to replace on V8.

the copium is strong. Toyota produces the same vehicle for decades and people are in awe that they are reliable. They have to get with the times for once and fall on their face.

Nearly anyone with a few brain cells who read the first notice was able to read between the lines and predict this outcome.

Can they fix some of the Camry styling? Apologies in advance to any current owners; I love Toyotas!

If these are new (not rebuilt) replacement engines, why the urge to sell? It should be good once fixed.
