Toyota 5SFE raised on DuraBlend

So, we all know about the potential for sludging on these engines if there is not a regular OCI.


My question: I have nursed my 2001 Toyota Solara 2.2 on Valvoline Durablend 5w30 since I bought it new. Now at 74,000 miles I am switching to Mobil 1 5w30.

Should I be worried about the potential for any previous sludge? Or was I safe in using Durablend all these years? It should be noted that I kept regular OCI's at 3500 to 4000 miles, with the Durablend.

Your engine is perfectly fine and most likely spotless. Why are you going to M1? Seems the Blend has been serving you well.

using M1 as a personal preference. I stocked up on it for the Subaru Outback & figured on using it for the Toyota also.
