What do you intend to use it in? For a road-going passenger vehicle, it seems like an unbeneficial excess of kinematic viscosity.

I saw a data sheet said that but another one said SM so who knows. It does not appear on the API listing, there are very few 10W-50 oils on there and this isn't one of them.

I think to youse this oil for a track days in Summer season IN EJ205 Subaru motor. May add some ZDDP to increase protection.

It can't be, there is only one API. If it's not on their list then either that's a mistake or a broad "suitable for" definition.
API certification is voluntary. It's certification and listing on API list is not required when oil manufacturers are not displaying related API logos on the labels ....... which is typical in Euro specs oils. Hence, I would say this Total Quartz Racing 10W50 IS an API SN as claimed. Note that no API logos is displayed on its labels , thus not on API listings.

Voluntary yes but licensed nevertheless. So I can claim my oil is API SN in a PDS without being licensed? Just as long as I don't print it on the label as well.
 
Total make quality products,and i wouldn't think twice about using their 10w50 in the correct application.As the fourth largest Oil and Gas company in the world,i doubt they would be making up info on their TDS/MSDS.Total is French,nothing to do with Russia.
 
It's an interesting oil. I have a friend who has used it in his 1990 Ford Sierra Sapphire Cosworth 4x4 for many years and it runs great on it, original turbo and it's got 120.000kms on it and 28 years.
 
I see it as a thickened version of Total 5W40 (Quartz 9000 energy). Used to be recommended for the sport version of PSA's models. On the light side of a 50, with boron, probably gr 3, pretty cheap oil (at least here). Nothing extraordinary fancy. In the past it was only available in France, where nobody cares about API ratings, as long as you have the ACEA.

Yes - just as long as you don't print API logos (donut and starbust) on the label as well
