The Toyota srvice manual for my 2003 Echo specifies 9 lb-ft torque for installing the factory oil pressure sender with thread sealer. To install a 1/8" BSPT adaptor to the facotry oil presseure sender port (as part of pre-oiler installation), should I use the same factory torque spec on the adaptor? Thanks.

Will the material of adaptor make any difference on the torque spec? The oil pressure sender is made of stainless steel, while the adaptor I am installing is made of brass.

I don't think so, sifan. I'd use the same spec'd torque. The spec is probably more for the block then it is the oil sending unit. Stainless is fairly tough compared to brass and/or aluminum.
