toro 26624 mower question

I have a 1990 Toro 26624 21" mower. Got it fixed up and running like new but I am missing the bag and bag frame for it and I can't justify spending what they're asking for a new one to put on a free mower. Does anyone have a good recommendation for a mulching blade for this thing, i have a new blade in it that does an OK job but I'm wondering if there are better options. I do understand that these things are not the best mulchers because of the deck design.

A landscaper told me he has found that Honda mulching blades (2) have bolted onto several of his non Honda mowers.

The best mulching setup I've used is Honda's dual-blade system. That may or may not translate to a Toro mower, I don't know. The best conventional mulching blade I've used is a Gator blade.

My favorite is the Arnold Extreme mulching blade, similar to this 22" version:

That one looks identical to the blade on my Toro Recycler 22". Good blade.

The bag and frame assembly is Toro part 99-5267. The cheapest price on the internet I found was $133. If you're patient enough and not in a hurry, you can check ebay everyday until one shows up.

Does that mower have a serial number on it? The only way to know for absolute certain that the part is correct is by having the model and serial number.

Yup, it has a serial number. It comes up as a 1990 model.
