Thought i would start up a nice tool carnage thread. This morning pulling a 98 corolla engine this poor Kobalt flex head couldn't take the massive abuse I applied via the guilty looking cheater pipe. Fortunately i am an amateur and can afford these kinds of mistakes. HF sells a nice $24 unit which i may pick up in a few days.

I would recommend you use a 'breaker bar' to break the torque, and then use a ratchet. If used correctly, even lesser quality ratchets may last nearly indefinetly. Lowes will probably replace your ratchet at no charge.

Nah, only paid $10 a few years back on sale, and i admit fault and do not want to take advantage of it. I posted before about a craftsmen professional screwdriver that i also busted using it in a way I shouldnt. Live and learn.

The engine is out though!

I have that same impact, it will break some stuff.

I really like Aircat/Nitrocat tools, they need a lot of air to get optimum performance though
