I have four 5-quart jugs of Valvoline conventional 5w30 and one 5-quart jug of Mobil 1 Super-Syn 5w30.

Not being the oil-mixing "type" but still wondering if one quart Mobil 1 to four quarts Valvoline conventional gets me anything or just trouble.

This is for an '08 Corolla 1.8L.

Yeah, I know they'll mix just fine. But is there any benefit to this?

Or just run that jug of Mobil 1 10,000 miles and then go with the Valvoline @ 5,000 OCI's after that?

From personal experience blending is just fine. You can create a synthetic oil with more moly/mg/zddp and ca+ if you get a few VOA's and do the math.

Absolutley fine to do... Dad does it all the time with left overs he finds in the garage, some of which are for small engines like on snow blowers and his van is at 310,000KM and counting...
