Tis the Season that --------

The tow-truck drivers can not keep up with all the wrecks around the malls.

The way some people drive when the ONLY thing on their mind is shopping is SCARY.

So if you have do drive anywhere around any mall, remember what Michael Conrad said on NYPD Blues,

“Hay, let's be careful out there.”

Actually, Michael Conrad said that on Hill Street Blues, but the point remains.

I work close to a mall, and when I first started there, it seemed a shock when I found that the worst days were just after Christmas. I guess kids out of school plus the need to do returns made it horrible.

I came up with an alternative route and stuck with that. It gets a bit worse (due to everyone else avoiding the mall), but I've seen worse.

You have mall traffic in the daytime, and the drunks at night. Drunks tend to not turn on their headlights. I know in Canada newer cars have lights on in the front all the time, but I've been almost right on top of cars with no rear lit up.

The holiday times expose the lightweights, the career drunk drivers can hold their own.

Around here they seem fairly normal still.

That's because in Canada this and tomorrow are just normal days. There are, though, a lot of folks around here who cross the border absudly early to capitalize on the U.S.'s "black Friday".
