Hello

I just got a 2006 V6 2WD Nissan Frontier and upon starting the vehicle the TPMS light flashes then goes solid on (not flashing)

What is this an indication of and how to troubleshoot?

I have an obd-ii reader that can connect to my smart phone it that would be helpful

Thanks!

Bulb/LED check? All idiot lights come on when starting a car.
that isnt flashing to solid
bulb check is solid then off.

fault in system is usually indicated by flashing to solid.

but check all tires for proper pressure.

if the tire psi are set correctly...
you probably have in order of likelihood
dead battery in tpms sensor
a dead sensor..
a fault with the actual tpms system (usually the module)

Usually need a tpms tool to figure it out.. regular cheap obd tool wont help.
a really fancy scantool might or might not on that generation of vehicle.

I learned that the factory part number is

40700-CK001
40700CK001

Yes, read sloppily and fingers moved.

One (or more) sensor has failed or is failing. Usually means the battery in the sensor has died. A tire shop can determine which sensor it is and you can replace just that one or all of them.
It just means one of your tires is low, so check them :)
Solid means low pressure. Flashing means "error" or fault.

Well his is flashing then solid.
In this case its probably a bad sensor or battery.
batteries arent replaceable so its really the same fix.

Get a tpms tool to read the 4 sensors find the bad one and replace it.

Just had all of the sensors on my 2012 frontier at our local independent tire shop $283.00 out the door.

all 4 should be replaced, since they all have similar lifespans and were installed at the same time
