Tire blew out while car was sitting - saw this in my buddy's shop

About 30 years ago when I was a kid, shooting hoops with friends in the driveway and "BOOM!" out of nowhere the tire on my dad's car blew out. I went in and said, "Dad, your tire blew up." He thought I was lying so never checked. Until Monday morning when he couldn't get to work because his tire blew up. He told me he thought for sure I was playing a joke on him.

I ran Radial TAs on my classic car for 19 years before they wore out. They really looked bad when I replaced them. I guess I was lucky. I used to drive all over Michigan with them.
