Or Disney is going down in flames for not using the creators ideals of what it should have been!!!

Unquestionably, the movie is over-hyped, there is no escape from the endless marketing, and Disney is greedily attempting to further insinuate itself into our lives.

STAR WARS: THE FORCE AWAKENS

I hope, that skin color is not J.J. Abrams most far reaching accomplishment. If so, it will of course it will a dismal failure. Equal opportunity is great, but we've come to the point where it has supplanted merit or the back story...we will see!

The original 3 were lots of fun the second group of movies really sucked. I'll wait for others to spend their money. I mostly hate movies as they are all alike and boring.

Already been done. Look at Lando Calrissian and Mace Windu.

I took my kids to see the first Star Wars movie and now I am taking my Grandkids. Sorta neat I think.

Only one I saw was the original 1977 movie. Saw it in the theatre brand new when I was a kid. One of the neighborhood friend's parents took all of us to see it.

GET THIS! My sister's employer is said to have arranged a 9:30 AM showing this Saturday. I'm seeing it for FREE.

I say that because movies, generally, DISAPPOINT. Plus I don't have the myriad fabric of details and unmemorable names and terms memorized.

It's why I don't like football or politics-too many details to root for or against.

I can't say I remember which, how many or in which "story order" of the franchise's films I've seen.

6,5,4 then what? 3? Or is this one the 5th to be released. Kira

Well, I saw a very dark skinned man in a storm trooper outfit, so if that's the case they are off the original since all the storm troopers are clones and look exactly the same that's why they wear masks. They were white inside and out.

Be like me.. let Star Wars be just another movie, not my genre of tea.

At least it's not ruined with song from Sam Smith, been way past it's prime, was exciting when we were teens..

Kids are where the money's at, though. You get a kid to whine enough to his parents, it becomes a family excursion with four tickets and a whack of concessions, plus some toys down the road. For me, it's one ticket, and perhaps a Blu-ray down the road, if I find it cheap enough.

Nope. Clone Troopers (the forerunner of StormTroopers) were all clones of Jango Fett (who in the movies was not white, but of Māori, Scottish, and Irish decent).
Stormtroopers can be anything under the mask, even non-humanoid.
Not sure why skin color matters though?

And yes, I hate that I know that. Well, not really.

I have avoided anything to do with trailers and sneak peaks etc with this movie.
Am I looking forward to seeing it with my 10 year old son, yes.
Would I see it if I did not have a 10 yr old son, yes.
Will it be as moving as the original I saw in theaters when I was 8, no.

All these movies are the same, good vs evil, evil appears to win, but in the end good prevails.

As an early 80's baby, my first viewings were on VHS.

Having watched all the movies so far, but the original three more than the rest, I feel the very first one was the best.

Im not convinced to go see the new one in the theater... However, because it retains some of the original characters, I may if it gets good marks.

I havent been in a movie theater in I cant remember how many years. First time to re-do anything, right?
