Hasn't been certified yet. He supposedly hit 943mph (Mach 1.24)!

I'm surprised he didn't hit twice that speed with stones that big.

Did anyone else watch it live when he was spinning? That looked a little iffy!

If it were him in a bar with "Sully" Sullenberger I'd buy the latter the lager.

But I'm still happy as a country that we have people who "do stuff."

He's Austrian so is Red Bull. Just saying.

I watched the live feed, it was spectacular!!! I love the way he touched down, walking like nothing happened. A great step in aerospace engineering. Hopefully allowing for possible ways for high orbit bailout.

GO TEAM EARTH!

FYI this guy is Austrian.

They were probably just recording from that camera, and will have video later. Although it would have been cool to have a helmet cam as he stepped off.

Let me guess: it's a conspiracy.

FWIW, I watched it live in HD on my computer and he started spinning head over feet fairly violently because of the lack of atmosphere and ability to stabilize himself until some air molecules started hitting his body. Imagine putting a camera in a basketball and shooting hoops. That's what it would have looked like.
