Was that tech inside of a DEATH CAGE?
I see. Not wearing gloves to protect from carcinogens is unsafe.I'd get those apart in 5 minutes with my pair of $40 strut spring compressors.

For those saying they are not safe, neither is not wearing gloves like the tech in the photo.
Carcinogens on your hands is a no no, but on the kitchen counter is perfectly acceptable!I see. Not wearing gloves to protect from carcinogens is unsafe.
But doing this on your kitchen counter is just fine…
Kitchen counter transmission valve body repair
Got the thing apart from my 05 Jetta and waiting on the Transgo repair kit. Kinda reminds me of carburetor rebuilding with all the small bits and different assemblies.bobistheoilguy.com
After all, they're known to the State of California....All those unknown potentially carcinogenic chemicals on the guys hand getting absorbed into the body for one thing. Read a bottle of oil where it warns of exposure to used oil. Cuts, bruises and abrasions from slipping or breaking parts for another.
I used gloves.I see. Not wearing gloves to protect from carcinogens is unsafe.

Oh you're fancy. We just had the car up on stands and used a jack to compress the spring and lower it out of the car LOL.
My wife would burn me on the porch as an example for others to see.Carcinogens on your hands is a no no, but on the kitchen counter is perfectly acceptable!
If I did that my wife would have my head on a pike. And on that note, I’m off to play in the machine coolant!
They're fine in the other 49 states. I have a stack of those Prop 65 stickers at work. After all, they're known to the State of California....
They will interfere with the lower insulator. The lower hooks need to be much, much lower on the spring.
Completely agree; literally a "Your money or your life" situation with Mercedes springs!I wouldn't trust those on bicycle springs. I had better ones that let go on a W123 front spring, for those cars a few others its Klann or nothing.
And if it isn't, it probably doesn't work very well! After all, they're known to the State of California....
That is a fact! Look down to KL-0005, KL-006 and 006-2. For a shop doing a lot of struts and springs the KL-0015 is a good choice, I have not done a MB pocket spring in a long time, not one of my favorite pastimes.Completely agree; literally a "Your money or your life" situation with Mercedes springs!
The no spring compressor method. Compress the coil with the jack. Undo the top center nut. Undo lower A arm ball joint. Slowly let lower A arm out, decompressing the spring. Please, tell us more

Ones that have been beat on so much they may break the next time someone uses it? Not to mention the convenience of not making an extra trip to pick it up and then return it. Not worth it to me.You can borrow them for free from auto zone.

Here is a picture of a KYB strut plus (SR4453) for this application:I'd get those apart in 5 minutes with my pair of $40 strut spring compressors.
