This 0W30 is in 6094 but not in 4718

The list I have shows a date of August 08.

Will there be an updated list for 2009?

They do updated lists 1-2X a year or so. Not always easy to find the most recent list online however.

And again, GM4718M deals solely with heat resistance. Any real benefit to a 0W over a 5W would be in regards to cold pumpability which relates to GM6094M.

You do have an older list. Mobil 1 0w30 is on GM's list.

I started using Mobil 1 0W-30 in 2006. Silver cap bottles from then indicate compliance with GM4718M.

Maybe the problem lies with author of list.

I went back and looked again and Mobil 1 0W-30 is actually on that list I have from 2007( Nov 26 for the GM4718M and Dec 11 for the GM6094M ). Sorry about that. Missed it as it is the only one there amongst the 5W and 10W30's. I am having a lot of eye trouble lately and that didn't help. My bad and I apologize.

Hmm...as far as I can see the August 08 list is the most recent. It is now 10 months with no revision in the list

Interesting addguy.

But I just looked at the #s supplied by Petro Canada for their 0W30 oil:

cSt @ 40°C 58.5
cSt @ 100°C 10.6

And for PP 5W30 it is

cSt @ 40°C 57.5
cSt @ 100°C 10.3

So at face value it appears that this Petro Canada formulation is slightly 'thicker' than the 4718 PP 5W30...or am I missing something?
