What is the thicket ATF that a person can buy over the counter at auto parts stores such as Pep Boys, O'Reilly, Autozon, Walmart ... ? The power steering of the '94 LS400 has small leak, the recommend fluid is Dexron II. I think any ATF will be okay, I'm looking for the thicket fluid to slow down the leak.

I am not one to normally say use special potions. But try some of the lucas power steering stop leak. That stuff works amazingly it made my truck that leaked a quart an hour only leak a quart every week or so. Huge improvement its worth a shot.

+1 for lucas.

I got this "bars leaks" ATF additive at walmart, it's like cherry grenadine. Don't use the whole bottle in a PS system! I tipped the jug over with the lid off and picked it back up, it's so thick it didn't spill in that time. LOL

One "thick" ATF is Castrol High-mileage. It also has seal conditioners to stop leaks: http://www.castrol.com/liveassets/bp_internet/castrol/castrol_usa/STAGING/local_assets/downloads/p,q/pds_HM_ATF.pdf

I'll looking for Bars Leaks ATF stop leak and Castrol ATF High-Mileage when I go to WM. Thanks for recommending Lucas power steering stop leak, but I'm avoiding anything Lucas.
