the size of a 98 corolla exaust pipe? broken pipe.

Hi all. 98 corolla. Exhaust pipe from manifold too CAT completely broke, halfway dwont he pipe! Car made a loud tank noise driving it home lol. Well, i realize, besides a new exhasut system, i need too put an adapter on. Righgt now, im planning on using tiger tape i think its called, black tape for exhaust, suposed too heat up and act as welding. And a small exhaust leak clamp i got at autozone. they do have adapters. i cannot find the size of adapter i need. However, on rockauto, looking at a CAT formy vehicle, the OD of the cat, is 2.75 inches. What size adapter would i need too fit between the exhaust pipe after engine manifold, but before CAT?

im guessing, its between 1.75 and 2.75 inches? I tried googling, adapters too flexpipe, for right size too install between the pipe, i cant find much really. autozone or rockauto dont list the actual sizes.

ok! I looked on advanced autos website, i found 1.875 inch outlet size.jsut what im looking for! However,....forthe adapter piece, to fit between it, would i get a size slightly larger>? or the same size adapter?
