The Rise of SAE 0W Lubricants

I like this gem:

"The W represents winter certification, the 20 represents the viscosity of the oil when at a temperature which is higher. When the oil number is lower, it denotes that, its thickness is high enough. It is likely going to give a performance which is TREMENDOUS in whatever condition even when it is extreme."

in a few years the auto makers will come out with a car guaranteed to go 50,000 miles. it will not have 0 weight oil in it. when they come out with hydrogen powered cars, the engine will be lubricated by the exhaust pipe (water and fairy dust).

Read "Pros and cons".
This is in reaction to the "article" posted by @4WD, not the OP's.

What a waste of time - this garbage...

0w1000 oil, if they made it, would be exactly as thin at normal room temp as 0w30. 0w1000 oil would hold up to higher temps better than 0w30
You should do some more reading before posting statements like this. This is absolutely wrong in so many ways.
