Is anyone currently using the Patch to quit smoking. (Nicotine Transdermal System) I am looking for someone that is on Step 1 using the 21mg per day patch. I have Step 2 and Step 3, brand new in the box, sealed. Experation date June 2007. Or if you are a very light smoker, 10 or less cigarettes per day,you may be able to start with Step 2 for 2 weeks and Step 3 for 2 weeks.

So if you are doing this program and need Step 2 and 3, I have them for the right price. FREE. Sorry only one set. Also if you are going to sell this on EBAY, please don't contact me. I want someone who will use this and quit smoking.

That be me! I'll take it. I've tried the wellbutrin but that stuff just didn't work for me. Plus, I hate taking pills. I've managed to get down to 1/2 pack a day, but I just can't seem to get pass that. I'd love to have them.

Pablo,

I quit cold turkey about 6 months ago. I figure I am over the hump. I personally recommend the patch, even though I did not use it, providing you don't smoke while using it.

Schmoe, they are boxed up for shipment and they will be going out USPS this afternoon. Good luck and glad you are quitting.

I quit back in 1999 with Zyban. Now it's like I never smoked at all and I used to smoke 1 1/2 packs of Camel filters every day. I miss all that free stuff I got with my C-notes though. One thing to remember for all those interested in quitting is you have to treat this like an alcoholic in AA. You can never, ever touch another tobacco product again. No snuff, chew, cigars, pipes. Nothing. Hope this helps.

In one way I was OK. I hated to chew, dip or any of those. I also could not stand cigars or pipes. So cigarettes were my enemy. I still dream that I am smoking. Then I get up in the morning in a slight daze and look for my cigarettes. BUT, when I quit, I have never touched another one. One benefit when I quit, I live in the country, 9 miles to town, so when I wanted a cigarette, it was not available. And my wife never smoked in her life, so not a problem there. Also when I quit, I never missed the nicotine, I missed the habit and motion of smoking.

Congrats to all who have, or are attempting to quit. My father finally quit when diagnosed with lung cancer. He was never quite the same energetic man after the treatments, even when he was in remission. The heart and lungs are closely tied together, and his heart finally gave out from trying to oxygenate with the poor lung function. Do it for your kids, do it for your wife, heck, do it so that you can actually taste what a Sam Adams is like. Whatever your reason, quit if you can... I applaude you!

quit cold turkey few months back, i've tried to start up again (yeah im dumb) cause i like the relaxed feeling.... but after one smoke i get a sore throat and smell for a week... it's horrid, cant stand it now... hope it helps someone quit.

Asked my Higher Power every night to WANT to quit smoking...had my last one on New Years Eve.
I believe cousincletis is correct, there is no middle ground, I'm either smokin' or I'm quittin', can't just have "a couple of smokes" a day. That would never work !!
One day at a time I try NOT to stick one in my mouth.
P.B. smoke free in '06

I have read that the habits are actually a chemical addiction in themselves, in addition to the nicotine addiction. Everything you do creates a chemical signal to the brain, and when the actions are habitual, the brain gets addicted to the chemical signals associated with them, and tries to influence behavior to get it's "fix". So a smoker actually has multiple chemical addictions to break.

I've emailed Tony already but I thought I throw this out too. Yes and no......I'm down to a couple a day but it's the phsycological habits that are making it harder to kick the last bucket. You know...after a meal, in the morning or especially having a cold brew. I can tell the patch is working because I don't have that craving like you would say sitting here at work or at the house, just those dang habits.
