Some of you may recall that I posted some time ago about possibly having gallbladder trouble. I still don't have a definitive answer to what's going on, primarily because of incompetent and/or lazy people at medical offices. I finally got the approval through for the HIDA scan that the gastroenterologist wants to do. That took a lot of phone calls and I even had to raise my voice once or twice. I've been in constant pain now for over a week, and I'm starting to get a bit testy.
When I go into these medical offices, I see the staff milling about smartly, but that apparently doesn't mean anything is getting done. I have finally come to the realization that these people do not care about my health or about me personally. Therefore, I must continually be a big enough pain that they will do their jobs just to get me off their backs.
The only way that I've been able to push this referral through, after more than a week, is by calling the Executive Director of the medical group we're assigned to on a daily basis and telling him that nothing is happening.
When someone consults a mechanic, plumber, grocer, or whatever, they expect that that person will at least care enough about their problem (assuming it's a problem with something mechanical, plumbing related, groceries, etc.) to attempt to solve the problem. This can no longer be expected from medical people.
