How often do you change your lower unit oil?

What oil do you use and why?

Usually once a season. The book calls for every 50hrs. This is a 1991 johnson 140hp. I do it before it freezes so if there is any water in there I can get it out and I don't have to worry about blowing my seals.

I use Amsoil Marine Gear Lube and have been every Fall since 2004.

Mine is a 2003 Suzuki 140HP 4-Stroke.

Love it!

Once a year. I use Mercury lube but may use the new RP gear oil next time.

I just drained last year's Amsoil Marine Gear Lube & flled it with new Amsoil Marine Gear Lube in the 2003 Suzuki 140HP 4-stroke.

Old stuff was clear with some metal flakes, but not too bad!

I do once a year. I bought 5 gallon pal of Yamalube. Can this gear oil be used in the front transfer case of Honda Ridgeline that requires front transfer case, Hypoid Gear Oil 80W GL4 or GL5?
