The issue with parts store remanufactured products

This isn't so bad when you compare this to the quality of most parts store rebuilt alternators, starters, and power steering racks.
 
It helps if the brake calipers are powder coated. My '00 Buick still has its factory original calipers and the black powder coat is still like new if you wipe off the brake dust and road grime. But then again, we don't have salt all over the roads here...

Last reman thing I looked at in an Auto Parts Store (advance Auto) it looks like they just painted it, and didn't bother to clean it properly before the paint job. I pointed out all the defects to the parts counter person before asking them to put it back.
