If one happened to find themselves being pursued by overzealous police and AK equipped gangstas on crowded city streets, which of the following vehicles would one choose as their "getaway" car? Mind ye, we be in downtown London.

I ain't lookin' fer the fastest. Just the best all arounder for running from the 5-0. I need a car that can take a bunch of hits from small arms fire and multiple rammings from oncoming traffic while still maintaining the driver's comfort levels.

Nah mean? I explain later if anyone has any quelms with this.

Choose from the following:

Coupes

Daihatsu Sirion
Fiat Punto
Nissan Micra
Saab Scania 900

Sedans

Brabus
Honda Civic
Lexus IS200
Lexus LS
MG ZT
Renault Laguna
Rover SDI
Saab Scania 93

SUVs/Vans/Trucks

Lorry
Range Rover
Toyota Hiace

Sports Cars

Jensen SV8
Lotus Elite
Nissan Skyline
TVR Cerbera

London-Owned Vehicles

Double-Decker Bus
Fire Truck
Police Car
Taxi
Unmarked Police Car

Wasn't there a movie where they used Mini Coopers? They're probably good at threading through the cityscape, evading pursuers -- and look cool doing it.

I'd start with a rear-wheel-drive sedan or coupe. Perhaps an AMG or a Brabus, but with all the fancy trim removed so it wouldn't look as fast as it really was.

I suppose a small FWD or AWD sedan or coupe would work too. Something that looks ordinary but has lots of performance mods.

If I have to pick from that list, the Range Rover. Fairly solid, fairly comfortable, fairly powerful. It would be a decent all around 'ute to have.

If given more choices, I'd take a dually pickup truck. Those seem to hold up well in chases. They are very resistant to damage and they have big fuel tanks. Every chase I see on TV involving a dually pickup usually lasts a while.

I seem to have the best luck with the taxi cab. The cab allows me to blend amongst traffic and the Police and thugs drive right by.

This a PS2 game that I wish I had never rented. It has absorbed way to much of my time this weekend! I even skipped beer and Monday Night Football!

Tomorrow it goes back to the place it came from! Too much violence and those sirens have driven me nuts!

I need an Xbox 360!

Allow me to add a choice: an M1A1 tank. I'd want the A1 variant for its heavily upgraded technology, and of course, the vastly superior climate control system (compared to the original basic M1). Cops and gangstas alike will scurry for cover when they see the main gun slewing majestically toward their position. You can go pretty much anywhere you like, though making a discrete, clean getaway might be an issue...

EDIT: oh yeah, don't be short on gas money though, as these beasts swill fuel to the tune of gallons per mile, not the other way around.

I got hooked on Grand Theft Auto San Andreas.

These are my favorite getaway vehicles...

The pictures look a little funny because my computer is widescreen, and when you use the camera feature in the game it doesn't take that into account.

Those are downloaded vehicles I added, not the standard ones.

I'd pick an Austin taxi. It will blend in London. It also has a super-tight turning circle (ca 6 meters), which may come in handy.

Just about, there's a bunch of downloadable cars available.
