It seems that the theme of this movie is so over played these days.
Amazon must have 50 or so movies like this.

The original was okay. But enough already.

I blame Homer for all those historical epics and sword and sandal movies.

I never had much of a chance to watch TV. I have recently and I do like Netflix. I have no issue with foreign movies but there are so many Euro movies on Flix. It would be a ok but the plots and actors/actresses just aren NOT up to speed with American movies. WHY??? I don't get it. I could see 30 years ago, but in this age? Kinda weird to me.

Agree, way overplayed.

The Big Chill was released in '83 or '84. I remember watching it in a hotel room with a slew of coworkers while out of town.

It's a look at the friends of a suicide. They talk about themselves much more than the deceased. The ending was monumentally weak in that notice of an unaccepted scholarship equaled a de facto "...Oh, he never got his life together", moment.
Yet another good movie with a quick "get out" (The Departed, anyone?).
The Big Chill was all about the soundtrack.

I have observed the same thing. My wife will be excited for us to watch something on Netflix. I ask if it is in English or dubbed from another language, she doesn't know. Well more than half the time it is a foreign production that is dubbed. Off she goes and on to something else.

My belief is that it is a matter of dollars and cents. It is a ton cheaper to create a movie or series in a foreign land with local actors speaking in their native language.

Totally agree...
Watching a snore Euro bore now
Horrible acting.

Yes there is.
I no longer remember the titles.
Same old nonsense.
