Someone posted a deal the other day about some QS and another commenter linked an ebay page for two 5qt jugs of 5w40 Euro Full Syn for $37. Rumor was it's shipped via Walmart somehow even though the ebay seller isn't Walmart related. Anyways, got the jugs today and they're legit and sealed

Those deals are usually sketchy but appears you received what you bought. Did the seller have a lot of feedback? If they have none or very little you can almost guarantee a scam. You saved a few bucks from retail price.

Correction, shipped from KEASBEY, NJ
This is probably a relevant video that explains the how and why of stuff like this...

That's very interesting. This particular ebay account isn't very new, they have positive feedback (over 100), my deal wasn't that amazing, and I didn't get anything extra. So I'm not sure it's the case here but possible I guess. The product being shipped direct from Walmart is very suspicious.

Simple. eBay seller simply knows that Walmart is selling cheap oil. When the winning bidder wins, the seller orders the oil from Walmart using the winning bidders name and address, and pockets the difference between the sold eBay price and the Walmart price.
Problem is all the sellers' items in his store are cheaper than what Walmart is charging. The more I dig into this, the more I'm convinced it's triangulation fraud like in the video. Make perfect sense. I feel so dirty.

Thanks very much for posting the video- never seen anything like it.

Video is slow and long, but informative. I found the end being most important, not a victimless crime. The victims appear to be retired people with limited ability to know they are a victim, but even worse, if the victim does figure out, the monies are being taken from the, the FBI, and Ebay apparently have bigger fish to allegedly fry (FBI), or not caring is very profitable (Ebay).

I got a 12 qt box of Supertech from eBay for a few bucks cheaper than I could have bought it for in the store. I had an identical box bought from a real B&M WM and the date code font etc were all matches. They also identically passed the shake-glug test on the coldest winter night I could find. (I was concerned about counterfeit product.)

My theory, naive to the triangle fraud angle, was that WM wanted a parallel distribution for overstock that wasn't undercutting themselves directly. Sort of how Ford sold the #1 sedan, the Taurus, by sending hundreds of thousands to Hertz for a few thousand miles then selling them as used cars.
