The only one I agree with is The Doors "Light My Fire". Probably one of my all time favorite songs. The organ solo (has to be the full length LP version, the 45 version leaves out the organ solo) still gives me chills to this day! (y)

The original mono LP mix is even better! I found two copies at a used book store for a dollar years ago.

There's no way I could whittle it down to 25. 1000, "maybe" but even then, depends on your age, life experiences, the mood you're in, level of intoxication, etc.

The ones you listed, most would be on my top 1000 list but top 250, probably less than half. Top 25? Maybe Stairway to Heaven and Can't Get No Satisfaction would be contenders for that list, but they'd have tough competition.

I'd put Don Mclean's American Pie in the top 25. Then tomorrow I'd change my mind. 25 is too few.

But they dun left off, Blue Moon, Freebird, 8675309/Jenny, The bluest eyes in Texas, and Amy's back in Austin.
