My 2.4L Nissan has an "airy", "whistling" sound coming from the valve-train (I think). It's not exactly what I would call pronounced, but I notice it at lower RPM's, like when I pull into the garage and it echoes off the walls. Does anyone know what I'm talking about, or am I just being overly sensitive, or just losing my mind?

Could be a cam chain.
No chain? Belt.

Not sure if "whirring" is right, but could be. It's really hard to describe. I believe the 2.4L has a timing chain instead of belt.

It's sounded like this for a bit. It's so minor I'm not even sure it's anything at all. I don't think it's a vacuum leak or a water pump based on the sound and where it comes from and that as I even slightly rev the engine it seems to go away. I wish I could think of a better way to describe it...if I do, I'll post it.
