my last OCI was on Toyota 0W-20, plastic can, made in Sweden.
Engine 3,5L, 2GR-FE, gasoline.
I use only TGMO in plastic cans, Mobil inside, no Japanese mid SAPS oils)))
I tried to use all avalable different TGMO's in Russia.
Big number of Cu, Si, Fe in first OCI's are due to new engine.
Factory fill and 0-20 TGMO are mid SAPS oils, all others are full SAPS with initial TBN around 10-11.
So one engine, same conditions, one driver))) Please comment!

Interesting, so did it lose that much of it's VI from being in service?

If it was made here maybe it lost it during shipping! lol

Would be interesting to see a VOA of the Russian brew, if it did in fact start at 200+ so much for the "new and improved" VMs!

Other than that it looks like the engine is doing well.

If I'm not mistaken he took a VOA and it was 219. It dropped significantly.
 
Great to see someone else paying for KV40 measurement in UOA. There's a dearth of information on how these high-VI oils maintain that property with use.

TBN looks reasonably strong for the mileage.

What lab is this?
 
This is lab of one of the Russian lubricants producers. So this lab can test more parameters than "conventional monitoring" lab.
 
yes, I see that I can run on fullSAPS oils 15-20 000 Km at the same driving conditions. but my car is new one and Toyota service rules require to do service works each 10 000 Km to keep garantee in Russia.

I think that characterization is a little harsh. It's still a 180 VI with a 7% kinematic viscosity loss @ 100C and the lower VI prior fill is part of that. That's still a higher VI than any virgin OTC 0W-20 and those oils often have a drop in VI as they shear and they often shear more.
Just take a look at the 5W-30 FF with only a 132 VI. It's virgin VI was likely in the 160 range.

When an oil shears for the VI to decline, and it usually does somewhat, the KV100 measure must drop at a greater rate than the KV40 but the KV40 still does decline otherwise the oil would get noticeably thicker on start-up even at room temperature.
And in all the oils I've used I've never observed that; i.e., an oil pressure rises on start-up as the oil ages doesn't happen.
In this particular case the TGMO 0W-20 KV40 is higher than the virgin oil and it is due to the much higher KV40 of the 30wt prior fill.

But I agree I wish more members chose to include a KV40 test, their is little point in buying a high VI oil if it's not largely retained in service. Some GP III 5W-50's don't perform particularly well is this area.
 
Interesting that the FF and the 0w20 are the only ones with any (trinuclear) moly in them.

Looks like an excellent trend you've got. Would love to see you do one type of oil for three changes in a row. Keep it up!

Now I am on Castrol Professional E 5w-20 with Ford 948B. But in future it will be possible)))
