I just bought out the entire remaining stock (10 quarts) of Texaco Havoline at the Leduc, Alberta Wal-Mart, for $1.00/quart Cdn. No one could tell me why they were clearing it out.

What do you guys think, are they doing this to make room for new SM stock or is Havoline a toast at Canadian Wal-Marts?

I think you probably got some old stock. What are the specs. and date codes?? No way Wally's is going to quit selling Chevron/Havoline in Canada. Did you get some old SJ perhaps?

I have seen new Wal-Mart stocks of SJ Chevron down here that was 4 years old! Still ok, but Wally cleans out some warehouses from time to time.

I was complaining over a year ago that the Hav. synth. 5-40 is no longer on the shelves, but I believe the conv. stuff is still there.

My local Wally-world cleared out the Hav. synth over a year ago. I got the last of it: 2x 5w40 and 1x 10w30 synth, for $1.00ea.
Havnt seen it since.

Just back from Wal-Mart an hour ago. No Delvac-1, No Mobil1 5W-30, and no Havoline products whatsoever.

GC was on the shelves and plentiful, but I am very surprised at the run on M1 5W-30 -- they must've had 20 gallons there when I was there earlier this week, and the stuff definitely wasn't on sale. Even the quarts were sold out.

(doesn't this topic belong in another forum??)

It's all SL. The batch code starts with 04 04 30, which I think means March 30, 2004, so I think this is current oil.

I went to the Wal-Mart in Red Deer, no Havoline and Havoline tag on the shelf. I'm really beginning to think it's history at Wal-Mart.
