Thats what I see and always have.

Some additions.

Taycan Pros

Great sustained performance
Nice interior closer to conventional car
Theoretical unlock of greater charging speed.

Taycan Cons

Late delivery to market
Missed the charging speed target at delivery
Missed the range target
Missed the efficiency target
Missing a charging network to make it workable on a trip
No OTA updates
Giant price premium
Small "ish" sedan closer to model 3 in size vs S
No autopilot/ advanced driver aids
No sentry mode
No Joe mode
No dog mode
No summon feature
No remote window close/ crack open

Clearly from an innovative standpoint there is no car like a Tesla at any price.

Racing a drop dead gorgeous $200K Taycan on interstate 280 south of Palo Alto...
(Dunno if this will work)

For your viewing pleasure. Apologies in advance for my lack of video skills; I ain't no kid...
TBT there is no Taycan anywhere to be found. But I can't wait to see one!

why? why?? why???

You should not have embarrassed that Taycan driver like that. It is shame that it could not keep with you at 64 mph. :)

After checking out a few Taycan reviews I think the haptic control surfaces are an upgrade from the teslas static panel.

Not sure if the 2 speed gearbox is a pro or a con- perhaps its both,
Its another reservoir to maintain and quite possibly leak, but should give it a boost either out of the box or on top- as long as it holds together.

Another pro would be - it sounds cooler.

Haptic control surface (s?)

Vikas, no Taycans were harmed in the making of this video.
We threw 'em back.

Porsche Taycan Turbo official EPA range and efficiency numbers are out.

201 mile range (93.4 kWh battery) vs 348 miles for the Model S Performance (100 kWh battery)

Taycan: 49 kWh / 100 miles
Model S Performance: 32 kWh / 100 miles.

Taycan efficiency is even worse than the Audi e-Tron and Jaguar I-PACE.

Porsche is still a years behind Tesla in their EV powertrain and battery engineering.

And that terrible range is WITH the 2-speed transmission ...‚

How did they get to such a terrible 49KWH/100 miles? I'd expect that on an EV like the Cybertruck. Isn't that last place in KWH/mile ratings at this point? I guess if you have Taycan "turbo" money you can buy all the electricity you want and not notice the expense.

Is anyone surprised? They shouldn't be.

The Germans have missed every range, efficiency, charging metric, and date they set.

Remember it was going to charge in 15 minutes and have 300 miles of range?

When guys like Bob Lutz spew that tesla has no advantages they really have no idea what they are talking about.

Between the battery pack, Inverters, motors, motor controllers, wiring, and electronics packaging and efficiency - a car company is coming from a severe deficit from every angle but coachbuilding. (which is important for sure) Tesla is leveraging a space programs tech and the smartest electronics minds in silicon valley.

Sandy Munroe has said for years now that when it comes to the skateboard - no one even comes close to tesla, and because they aren't silo'd they come up with innovative efficient solutions like the super bottle, that simply couldn't be invented elsewhere because of the way they work.
