Tesla Handles - Dental Adhesive Solution

So..... Tesla drivers are all of a sudden discovering that frigid cold weather depletes their batteries performance. Who would have thought?

""My biggest concern is the cold weather drained my battery 20 to 25 miles overnight and an extra five to ten miles on my drive to work......"

That flat handle was some designers dream the handle engineer got the shaft or was likely a greenhorn.

Personally the entire car is designed and built by greenhorns in vehicle building. The pain is great for Tesla to build better vehicles and that obnoxious cockiness of Musk. Or will he reply let them eat cake and say they need to park his cars in garages....

The NY media has been out to get Tesla. They report on anything negative. All cars have some issues in extreme weather. Hundreds of Kia and Hyundai are catching fire and you hear nothing except at the local level. Google it, you won't hear much from the MSM, just the auto blogs and local news.

Actually guys. Tesla doesn't give a rat's you know what about anyone living where it freezes. These cars are for Southern California consumers.

Maybe Tesla will come out with a blanket warmer to keep those batteries comfy during the winter? They would charge about $2000 for it as well.

Batteries hate cold and they hate very hot conditions too.

Could have a little generator parked next to the car running biodiesel (and 0W20) to keep the Tesla "flight ready"

It seems like the Volt/Bolt and all the Teslas can handle hot better than a Toyota/Lexus hybrid or the Leaf can - GM and Tesla use liquid cooling to manage temperatures within the pack. Toyota is all aircooled, and the only time you really hear the battery blower fan kick on is when the pack fails and codes are thrown. Honda in their first 2 generation of hybrids had very little cooling.

There have been stories of Volts still on the original battery packs, while a Prius will need one after the 160K mark - when it will it happen is dependent on where the car is operated and how it's operated(as a normal car vs. being used as an Uber or cab).

Usually the owners are well off enough to have another vehicle or know about the temperature effect. They live in cold weather and it is likely this is not the first day they have the car. Now used Nissan Leaf owners, they will likely have a bit more concern.

Most likely the Tesla owners have other cars in their household or can rent a car for these extreme weather.

So... The "solution" to the lack of cold weather performance of the Tesla, is to buy or rent another car when the temperature drops?

Well of course Bill...in order to conserve nature's finite resources, you need to double the consumption of the majority of common vehicular elements, and lead to the rapid depletion of some of the rarer ones...

In this area, a Typical Prius cab would need a new battery at around 320k miles, while headgaskets were a regular problem at around 170k. I guess, our mild climate is a factor here.
