Can a mechanical water temp gauge be used as a fluid temp gauge? I do not see why not. Dummy lights on a truck are for dummies, like me, but I did sleep at a Holiday Inn last night, and might want to has an actually gauge.

Ah. So the mechanical gauge requires running a capillary tube or similarly from the sensor to the gauge.

Trying to avoid alien abduction? EMP? I get it, carbide headlights, mechanical injection diesel, mechanical gauges. No electronics means no stopping.
yeah recently I got me a nice CUCV truck, with dummy lights. I want to add a mechanical gauge set and have 2 water temp gauges.......wanted to use one for ATF.

Really, I do not think the truck has enough power to kill the Th400 tranny, so might not even go down that road............just a thought.

It has not auxillary cooler, just the radiator type.......but it might be adequate.

As to the levity, I do not think "aliens" are real, the math just does not add up. Evil people and civil catastrophes, sure.
