was talking with one of the crew members during the rain delay on saturday.

they run Redline 70wt.

i asked if that was to survive the nitro. he said yes.

i said that is some might thick brew. he said on cold mornings they have to push it into the motor. doesnt like to pour so well.

was fun talking with him. until the team across lit a motor to seat the clutch and i left to prevent the nitro tears.

I wondered what weight oil they ran in those things. I'm guessing despite what brand of oil painted on the side of the car, wasn't always what went into the car. That's it tomorrow I'm changing all my vehicles to 70 wt.,,

i could not find a Redline decal on the rear wing, that's why i asked him what oil they ran.

then i looked around and finally saw the 2 foot long logo on the side of the digger.

and THAT is why i love nhra over nascar. because you can go talk with the guys right up in the pits and see what all is going on.
granted when its service time between rounds on sunday, not much talking going on. but saturdays, you can get in a good conversation.
