Does anyone know the TBN of Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30? I checked their web site, did not see it, also checked VOA section, nothing there. Thanks

The last data I saw showed it was between 11.5-12.0, of course that was the SL version and not the latest SM formulation, which has a bit less calcium.

Do you think Amsoil 5w30 is a more proven choice? I believe it has a TBN of 12 and seems to hold up pretty well. My planned OCI would be 10000 miles.

Mobil 1 Extended Performance and Amsoil 5W30 (Not the XL stuff!) are two of the three non-diesel oils that that I absolutely trust to keep TBN up in a 15,000 mile interval in a healthy car with sane operating conditions.
We have MORE evidence supporting Amsoil, but no evidence that really undermines EITHER of these oils in this application.
My other oil would be GC, with honorable mention to Redline... it has gobs of additives, but I just don't think it's formulated for extended drains.. but Redline would probably still last, but I'm not about to use it.
