Tax prep charges?

My CPA is charging me $450 to do my taxes. I have lots of stocks, some overseas plus the usual Retirment, SS and some other investments.

What are you folks paying for similar?

I paid $395 for CPA to do it and then had to pay the tax man $_____.00

Pay the professional to do your taxes correctly and $450 is very reasonable.

Big taxes last year and I’m hurting.

Daughter dropped off my taxes Monday. Pretty simple now and fully retired this year.
Only income was social security and some interest from a couple banks.
Have not tapped into 401K accounts or other investments yet. Live a simple life and can survive on minimal funds.

Tax lady called today and they are done. Just need to go there and sign the taxes.
Cost me $200.00

freetaxusa.com if you are doing it yourself. federal is free. state is $14? but I just go to my states website and type it in for 15min and that is free too.

Turdblo tax and hrbunk always nickel and dime you. ...

Freetaxusa.. is .... free.. after 4 years still working good. copies in all of your previous years data
you just plop in your numbers and done. ...
I use TaxHawk, which I think is the same outfit. Your description fits. It functions well, even with slow connections.
Last year my brother finally had to switch from TurboTax to FreeTaxUSA.
