Worm gear hose clamps come in various qualities. The cheap skinny ones are poor. The higher quality, wider ones have lasted me for years.

There are several specs for fuel line hose. Some of them will work fine for ATF; some won't.

Yes you are right ken i have heard about some stories about it for both hoses and clamps...the worm clamps i use mostly for my plumbing for the pool and the odd stuff
