I just installed a reman 263hd transfer case in a 2500hd. When I installed the driveshaft it did not slip right in easy. I had to pry / tap it in with a mallet. Once it was in it seemed to turn easy. The slip yoke is brand new as well. Should these slide together that tight when everything is new or should I be looking for something wrong before it's driven?

The yoke should slid in the bushing easily, Builders like to beat bushing in with a hammer & not test them for sizing.

Take the old yoke slide it in ''till it engages the bushing all the way & tap it all the way around to try to size the bushing.

It may size/clearance itself, But then again......It might spin the bushing out & ruin the case half.

I did what clinebarger said and it worked great. It seemed to loosen it up and I was able to put the driveshaft in by hand with no extra effort. I have put close to 1000 miles on it so far and no problems. Thank you.
