Folks:

I picked up a Tacklife pressure washer pretty cheap.

The casting is terrible - you can actually see gouges in the head.

The fill hole has a dipstick that - according to the directions anyway - you are not supposed to screw back in to check the level. (Much like a Honda mower). Great in theory - but the stick does not even reach below the fill hole.

I filled it to the spec amount (about a half quart). Oil is pouring out of the fill hole. I used it for less than an hour - and the oil is gray - with metal shavings.

I may email them and ask if the manual is wrong - but not holding out hope.

Change the oil on any new small engine several times or more when new. You have less than an hour, and the oil is gray - time to change it.
Small engines have a lot of breaking in to do in their early life.
I typically change the oil five or 6 times in any new small engine within the first 20 hours until I am satisfied that they are broke in. Then I switch to synthetic oil.

The spec for most engines with the oil fill plug low on the crankcase is to fill it until overflow.

So it's funny you say that. There is a fill plug on the other side. (I used the dipstick side to fill). The fill plug appears to be even lower than the dipstick hole.
