Just got handed down a 1991 F-250 4x4 with a 351W auto standard cab lb and i was wondering if i could run sythetic oil and tranny fluiid in it. didnt know if it would hurt anything being its 18yrs old. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Gotta luv free stuff.

Yes you can as long as there are no presant leaks. Synthetic will keep the tranny a few dgrees cooler.

Probably just peace of mind.

I would switch. It is always a good idea to make sure you have no leaks.

I would run Auto-RX before for better results.....

I use and think Amsoil is the best for me....I have no desire to use Royal Purple.

Have never tried it though.

What do I expect to gain by running syn lubes?

Cooler running, longer drive train life, very extended drain intervals, sliding under my as well as family vehicles way less often.........I ain't getting any younger, I will be 48 this year.
