Gotta change the rear axle seals on a 03 1500 silverado with limited slip.I know it comes with M1 75-90 but I got a real good deal on 2 quarts Valvoline syn-power 75-140,is this suitable switch??? Is the valvo too heavy??? Will it affect gas mpg????? Thanks for any input as I have absolutely no idea about rears...

I know Ford specs a 75-140 synthetic in the F150. Motorcraft also makes a synthetic 75W140 that Ford uses. I thought about switching to a lighter oil for winter since I don't pull a lot and do a lot of short trips. You can tell the stuff is thick in below zero temps, but then again at that temp everything is thick.
