I was actually reading up on it the other night. Lube 4 life is what they claim. 25,000 miles from a company like Amsoil is one thing, and has been done, but never changing the oil again except for make up oil is ridiculous. I have never used it and because of such claims never will.

kinda like going home with the fat girl. im not that good of a wingman so maybe I will run it in my old VW thing that has a million and a half miles! lol

I ran Esso XD-3 0w30 for 55,000km (35,000 mi)/4 years and the internals of my engine (GM 3.1L V6) on teardown (to repair an internal coolant leak) were clean as a whistle. Had I not experienced the coolant leak, there shouldn't have been a problem running considerably longer.

So at least in some engines, with some oils, long intervals are perfectly reasonable.

I agree to a point... Claiming your oil will go lets say 25K is one thing, and has been documented many times. Claiming your oil will last the life of the car is another. When it starts burning oil like a mad dog like my 80 Datsun 310 you will be pulling into the gas station to fill the oil and check the gas! They are right no oil changes except for the large amount of make-up oil needed along the way ( which is in this case like changing the oil if consumption is high). In a street car the oil needs to be changed at some point in the cars life.

The main point is that no one here has tried it, so no one can really say whether it will work or not. Its expensive, $30 a quart I think, which is probably the main reason. The other is that most of us are too obsessive and couldnt imagine never changing oil again. From what I understand the company has been around a long time, so there must be some success somewhere or he never would have lasted this long. So give it a shot, I would, but I have 200+ quarts of oil to use before I try something like that.
