High Temperature 4x4 Front Axle and Wheel Bearing Grease
Required lubricant for 4X4 Ford Light Truck front axle spindle bearings, wheel bearings and U-joints
Lithium complex, high-temperature grease
572°F (300°C) dropping point - will not run off at high temperatures
NLGI grade #2

while at AAP, i found Valvoline SynPower that says it's for U Joints, etc etc., meets NLGI #2 GC-LB Lithium Complex EP Grease and has a range of -40 to 400* F.

will this suffice? I wanted the lower range for the winter and i figured 400 was high enough, even though the ford grease specs higher. thanks in advance.

Is a pretty tall order. Is there any reason your not going with one of the specialty places like Amsoil, Redline, etc?

The Amsoil 2000 racing grease has a dropping point of 545F which is pretty good.

I'm currently using PL-10 from MPC with a dropping point of 500F+ and a four ball test of 500.

Redline does not have much of a spec sheet on line, but they would probably tell you if you ask them.

#@$%!. too bad, i just placed my Amsoil order this morning!
maybe i can find redline around here.....
i figured 400* was pretty high!!!
thanks.

I found Lucas Red tacky #2 and that is for up to 500*

so i bought that too.

thanks!
